The Living Experiment Society (TLE or the Society) has been established with the intention of creating a twenty-first century working example of Franciscan economic practices. It is the belief of the founders that, in a world focussed on commercial profit, there are individuals seeking an alternative which is more aligned to the human values extolled by St. Francis and to the principles of the common good found in sharing with those in a community. TLE will seek to create circular economies which integrate concepts of ‘just pricing’ and the subjective values of a transaction, integrity, joy, love (care for another and the planet) and fairness.

 

This recognises environment, social, economic, and human concerns are deeply interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation.
